Colorado River Fishing Report

For now its Trout that is keeping our anglers happy. there are a few spots that are producing well. the stocking sits are both Community park and Davis camp. After a plant these sites are giving up limits of rainbows with power bait and night crawlers working for our bait anglers and for our fisherman using spinners well my favorite is a panther martin or the mice tails. Other areas are also producing like Rotary park and the casino row area. From Michigan our visiting angler Harold Rescoe was able to land a couple in the rotary park area using his favorite mice tail the larger trout was 1.62 pounds and 16 inches. while our local angler Monte Frick landed his limit of rainbows in the casino row area using power bait. Both anglers were fishing from shore. I was lucky enough to get a couple of samples from the content of the trout's bellies. these fish are doing more than was hoped for they are eating the larvae of the caddis fly and the invasive mussels. Great news for all as the rainbows are doing a 3 fold job the other pleasing anglers dinner tables. the striper bite is just starting to take off a bit along the Colorado river here below the Davis dam up on Lake Mohave its been a bit slow with our weather temperatures changing kind of messes it up a little. Topock marsh should be braking loose soon as the large mouth bass are not in spawn yet and our weather is permitting access to hit this area. Hope this helps for now and when having any success out there stop in to share. thanks for all of your support hope to see you soon.
