Rusty's Colorado River Fishing Report

Slow is all I can say for now, I am not getting any word on our local striper bite. We tend to get some of our larger fish coming in this time of year. The water release and our weather is making it trying to get out there to even try and catch a fish. Our local angler Jackson Maki had some luck at rotary park and landed a couple of trout in the 1 pound range. He was using power bait and fishing from shore. We still have some rainbow trout out there. A great shore line to try is in the community park area. There are some good holes that the fish seem to hang in. Spinners will usually get them going and make them a little more active. This government shut down is not helping as our Willow Beach Hatchery is a federal hatchery. This means we are on the back burner for a bit before our Rainbow Trout stocking starts back up.
