Weather changed from the wind on Monday and turned cold enough for the fireplace to be lit.

BAIT: Mice tails, 3" power worms, rainbow glitter, garlic, and yellow glitter powerbait, along with pinched crawlers were the top menu items on the buffet.

LURES: 1/6oz Red/gold Buoyant, silver/blue Kastmaster, black/yellow dots Panther Martin, Silver Super Duper 501, O gold Mepps and a few bleeding frog Buoyants. Stay on the small size for most lures, the fishing has been sensational. One cast/one fish just about every time. Lots of pressure.

FLY AND BUBBLE: Black gnat parachute, olive elk hair caddis, Adams parachute, grey hackle yellow and Griffith's Gnat and small dark flies. But not many using this method this week.

FLY RODS: Early in the week streamers were doing their job, and some emergers were popping up. Great hatches on the Little V the last couple evenings last few days before the early am rain, and Matuka's, black crystal buggers produced but no one tried midges.  Still early in the season, but the fishing has been great!

BACKCOUNTRY: Lots of fish caught and released in Blue and Cooney on flies and a few lures. Hatches going off everywhere, so bring your fav's and chuck -em.

NOTE: If the trout bleeds don’t throw it back into the lake, it will die. If you care about the resource please be careful when releasing fish back into the water and IT ATTRACKS BEARS. More bears are NOT what we need.
